Meet Balto

Meet Balto, a 6 year old male Akita mix and a stunning boy who turns heads wherever he goes. His gorgeous, fluffy coat practically glows in the sunshine, and it’s so comforting to pet his super-soft fur. he rides well in the car, walks nicely on a leash and almost prances when his is out and about. He enjoys leisurely walks, exploring all the interesting sights and scents in the park, and taking life at a comfortable pace. While Balto adores people, a meet-and-greet would be required if there are other dogs in the home. Balto has waited patiently for someone to see beyond his kennel and discover the wonderful companion he truly is. Come and meet this special boy soon and see for yourself!

Meet Duncan

Hi there! My name is Duncan. I'm a big sweet brown tabby boy with a splash of white fur on my chest. I'm 1 year old, and I'm sharing a cage with my brother PJ. We love each other and need to be adopted together if you're looking for 2 great kitties! I am a good-natured couch potato of a cat, who likes to be petted and get lots of face scritches. You might call me Duncan Donut, if you want a good nickname for me. I've never had a donut, but they sound delicious. Oh, and if you want to do a little heavy lifting, I don't mind being picked up! I quite enjoy being carried around, actually!

Ways you can help

Financial Donations

Thanks to your support and donations we are able to build outdoor kennels with permanent shade, create additional bonding and exercise areas, support pet food pantries located around the county, and help provide surgical equipment and spaces for more spays and neuters, along with a new surgery and recovery area! None of the work we do is possible without your gracious financial donations!

You can donate through our Venmo or Bank transfer on our donations page, and can see more of what your donations have helped do for our four legged friends!

Volunteering at the shelter

The Carroll County Animal Shelter always needs volunteers! And A lot of our hands on projects need extra them as well. Carrollton has lots of events in the city that we like to bring the adoptable dogs too, and volunteers are needed for these.

You can also foster dogs and cats to help them find forever homes, or you can take a dog out for a day and take them around town to meet people and get out of their kennel, take a nice walk, and more!
