The Carroll county Animal shelter is home to many adorable cats and kittens for you to bring home!
You can bring home your new cat or kitten for $50 from the shelter OR you can visit Fur Babies Cat Cafe to also see the cats and kittens!

Meet Annie
Hello, you can call me Annie! I'm a black girl kitty who used to be a mama cat. I'm 2 years old, and now that my kittens have found their furever homes, I'm really hoping that it will be my turn soon! I may seem a bit grumpy at first, but if I'm being honest, it's just because I miss being in a nice comfy home with people to love on me and give me treats. You can pet me, just go easy at first; I'm a little anxious sometimes. But they tell me that I'm a pretty girl and I will find a home soon, so I hope that's true!
Meet P.J.
Howdy, I'm PJ! I'm a FLOOF, which means I have lots and lots of fluffy fur. I'm a brown tabby boy with cute white toes, and I'm a year old. I'm sharing a cage with my brother Duncan--we are bonded brother and need to be adopted by the same family. I am mostly sweet, but I also don't stand for any sass, so you have to be nice. No pulling my fur or trying to pick me up if I don't feel like it. Oh, and while I don't love being brushed, I probably should be, so I hope you're ready for that challenge, hah! And just lounging around being gorgeous. I'm VERY good at that!
Meet Ollivander
Hello! My name is Ollivander. If you are familiar with the Harry Potter books, you will recognize that name as belonging to the wand maker in the Harry Potter books. I want you to know, that although I am not a wand maker, I am a nice, affectionate male kitty. I have medium long fur, which is light orange tabby and white and also very soft, and I am 4 years old. I also especially enjoy chin scratches. If you are looking for a good kitty who would be a loving friend, you might want to visit me at the shelter.
Meet Dexter
Howdy! My name is Dexter, and I am a friendly boy kitty. I am a little bit older than the other kitties in this group - I am 5 years old - but I am told I am a sweet boy. Let me tell you a little bit about myself - I like being pet and getting face and chin scratches, and I also like to make biscuits and to purr. Some people comment about my funny meow - but I don't understand what is funny about it. Maybe you could tell me, if I meow for you. I hope you will visit my cage if you come to the shelter!
Meet George
Howdy! My name is George, and I'm a gray and white boy kitty who is about 1 year old. I am VERY friendly and love being the center of attention! I love to play, I love to purr and be pet. I really love to snuggle and make biscuits--I am so good at it! I'm also pretty vocal, because that seems to be what gets people to walk over and give me lots of love. I'm a great all-around cat who will be the ideal companion for someone looking for a solidly friendly, slightly goofy, eager-to-please kitty friend!
Meet Clara
Hello! My name is Clara, and I am a 3 month old white and black girl kitten. People seem to like my coloring - especially the way my tail and my back, my eyes, my nose and my chin - all have black fur, but the rest of my fur is pure white. My mama is named Carrie, and I am sharing a cage with her. Both of us are sweet kitties and very playful. We both love to be held and snuggled, so if you visit us and like to hold kitties, we would enjoy that.
Meet Barney
Hi, I'm Barney! I'm a 1 year old brown and white tabby boy. I'm sharing a cage with my friend Baby Bop, and I would love to be adopted with her if possible! You can tell us apart because I have a pink nose, and she has a dark nose. I am getting used to being here at the shelter, so I might flinch from you at first, or even hiss a little, but I am not a mean boy! I will let you pet me if you go very, very slowly. I like treats, so you can use those to help me feel more comfortable. With a little patience, whoever adopts me is going to have a loyal companion!

Hi there! My name is Duncan. I'm a big sweet brown tabby boy with a splash of white fur on my chest. I'm 1 year old, and I'm sharing a cage with my brother PJ. We love each other and need to be adopted together if you're looking for 2 great kitties! I am a good-natured couch potato of a cat, who likes to be petted and get lots of face scritches. You might call me Duncan Donut, if you want a good nickname for me. I've never had a donut, but they sound delicious. Oh, and if you want to do a little heavy lifting, I don't mind being picked up! I quite enjoy being carried around, actually!
Meet Betsy
Hello! My name is Betsy, and I am a 2 month old orange tabby female with little tufts of fur at the tips of my ears. I am a little bit shy, like my sisters, but if you are gentle, you can pet me or pick me up and cuddle me, and I would love that. My sisters, Susan and Martha, are a little more playful than I am, but I think I will feel more playful when I have a home and a family to care for me.
The Carroll county Animal Shelter is partners with Fur Babies Cat Cafe to help get the cats and kittens out of the shelter and into their forever families! This also allows you to enjoy coffee with snuggling and playing with the cats! Their mission is to create a warm, inviting space for cat lovers to visit and enjoy the company of friendly, adoptable kitties from Carroll County Animal Shelter. We are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment that supports the adoption of cats in need, while simultaneously serving as a place for our human friends to relax and de-stress.

You can volunteer at the Carroll county Animal shelter to help cats and kittens find their forever homes.
The TNR Program and why it is important:
Too many dogs and cats are having unwanted litters- the ones that make it to the shelter are just a percentage of the ones being born. The best way to help stop this is to spay and neuter, this takes education, accessibility and affordable options for our community. This prevents overcrowding at the shelter, reduces abuse and neglect of unwanted animals, is much healthier for the dogs and cats, and provides many other benefits to the animals and the community.
TNR programs are Trap/Neuter/Release programs, these are a humane way to help manage feral an stray cat populations. The cats are trapped, sterilized, vaccinated and their ears are tipped so they can be identified as spay/neutered and returned to their outdoor homes. This is one way we can help keep the number os cats and kittens in the shelters lower.
If you have feral cats and want to participate , these surgeries are done by appointment only Tuesdays and Thursdays at the shelter. Call 770-214-3590 for more info and to schedule an appointment.
