Ways you can donate.

Nothing we do would be possible without your donations. But do not worry, if you cannot financially give, we always need volunteers to help at the Carroll County Animal Shelter and local events with our adoptable dogs! As well as we always need foster families to help get animals out of the shelter and into loving forever homes!

Thanks to your donations we are able to give these dogs and cats better care, a better living situation in the shelter, and a better chance at finding their forever homes.

Projects your donations have helped:

New Recovery Area

Thanks to donations, we have been able to complete a surgery recovery area as well as buy additional surgery tables and equipment.  The additional equipment allows for more spay/neuters on surgery days at the shelter

New outdoor play space

reviously there was one large green space for the dogs to use to run, get fresh air and bond with potential adopters. We were able to  create 5 large outdoor fenced areas allowing more dogs to get fresh air and exercise as well as more areas for bonding and hopefully find their forever home.

Toys, food and more!

Thanks to your donations we are constantly able to supply the shelter with food and toys for the dogs and cats. We are able to get new dog beds, dog houses and more to make sure the dogs and cats are comfortable as can be while they await for their forever families to find them!

New Kennels and steel canopies

Thanks to donations, we have been able to add steel canopies to 11 of the existing outdoor kennels, The steel canopies provide protection from the summer sun and on rainy days.  We have also been able to add 15 new outdoor kennels complete with dog houses.  This reduces the number of dogs kept in inside kennels all day.We have been able to build and add a new patio for the cats to enjoy fresh air and sun bathing.

Current and future projects and how donations will help:

  • Permanent steel canopy for each of the new kennels

  • Permanent shade structures in each of the 5 bonding areas for a more comfortable experience if raining or extremely hot.

  • Electricity run in the outdoor kennels and fans installed to help keep the dogs cooler and keep biting flies away.

  • Financial support of 5 dog transports.- there are shelters in other areas of the country that are not over crowded and will accept transfer dogs.  The round trip is between 20-30 hours and 25-30 dogs can be transported at a time.  This reduces our over crowding and helps us find homes for more animals.  These transports require a driver and overnight stay-cost is between $650-$1000 depending on distance.

  • Purchasing a new fully equipped transport van. An appropriately equipped van would not only increase the number of dogs we are able to transport at one time but would make the transport more comfortable for both dogs and driver.

  • Providing more support to TNR programs- These Trap/Neuter/Release programs are a humane way to help manage feral an stray cat populations- The cats are trapped, sterilized, vaccinated and their ears are tipped so they can be identified as spay/neutered and returned to their outdoor homes.

  • Purchasing a mobile spay/neuter clinic.  This would allow us to provide more convenient low-cost spay/neuter options for our community.
